Early Monastic Settlements
In The Beara Area"

On Sunday, the 19th. February 2006, the Boston Beara Society held our 12th. annual social in Florian Hall, Dorchester. This year’s guest speaker was the renowned scholar Dr. Aidan Breen, who presented a paper on the history of the early monastic settlements in the Beara area.

Later that day, there was a display of Irish dancing, presented by the Forbes School of Dancing and that was soon followed by a sing-along and storytelling which was a delight to all who attended.
