The Boston Beara Society

The Society was established in 1995 to promote and celebrate the history, art and music of the Beara Peninsula
and the achievements of its people in Ireland and the USA.
The Boston Beara Society has adapted as it's logo an image of the Cailleach Bheara, the mythological figure
who's petrified remains may still be seen in Kilcatherine in the Parish of Eyeries

The 2008 Boston Beara Society Social

Once again, a wonderful evening of ceol, caint agus craic was had by all at the 14th. Annual Boston Beara Society social held in Florian Hall, Dorchester, MA on Sunday, April 20th. 2008. With lively ceili music provided by the Mike Reynolds Band followed by a brief lecture on General John Sullivan by Murray Reynolds, the audience was wonderfully entertained. Also, guest singers, the likes of Dave Walsh, Vincent McCafferty, Pat Casey, Mike Dwyer, Dan Dwyer & Maureen Ni Cheideag rounded off the evening’s entertainment nicely. Introductions and announcements were made by Mary Sullivan Kelly, Mike Dwyer & Kathy Sullivan.
